There are various tourist destinations in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri). For example, on Mepar Island, Lingga Regency, there is a historical relic of the Malay kingdom, Lekok Fort.
Lekok Fort is located on the hills of Mepar Island. Apart from having historical tourism, in this fort visitors or tourists can also see the Daik Capital Region directly from the hills. A visitor from Jakarta, Stevent Ade, said that he was quite satisfied with the sensation of historical tourism at Fort Lekok.

Dendang Melayu Tourism Area

This tower is to the right of the Barelang Bridge. At the top there is an open space. Visitors can immediately see the beauty of the bridge and the surrounding islands. Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar), Ardiwinata, said at that time that this viewing tower had been activated since 2020.
“Tourists can enjoy and take photos of the Barelang Bridge and the beauty of the sea from the closest distance,” said Ardi. Meanwhile, Batam City, he said, continues to improve to increase domestic and foreign tourist visits.
“Therefore, we continue to build complete facilities to support tourism to increase tourist visits,” he said. Dendang Melayu is a tourist attraction in Batam City which was inaugurated in 2012.
Facilities
This area has facilities, in the form of an entertainment stage, vendors selling typical Batam City souvenirs, a photo spot of the Barelang Bridge with a panoramic view of the blue sea of Batam City, typical Dendang Melayu snacks, namely roasted corn and young coconut.
“The atmosphere is very lively, there is an entertainment stage, special culinary delights. This means that the economy on the Barelang Bridge is looking good and getting better,” said Ardiwinata.
Ardi said that the Dendang Melayu Tourist Area is always busy with visitors, especially on weekends. They estimate that 2,500 people visited the area.
“This tourist attraction is always of interest to local and foreign tourists,” emphasized the Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Office. In the Dendang Melayu area, there is a spot for taking selfies with the words ‘Barelang Bridge’ in the background.
Apart from that, visitors can take photos with a view of the sea and mangroves from the top of the hill. Apart from the selfie photo spot with Dendang Melayu written on it, tourists can also enjoy various typical Malay culinary delights at the location.
At the same time, you can also eat grilled corn which is offered by many sellers at the location. For one entry, there is a fairly affordable vehicle parking fee, $0.43 SGD.

Apart from the Dendang Melayu Tourism area, tourists can also enjoy the beauty of the Tanjung Penarik Marine Tourism which is in the Barelang Bridge Area, Batam.
