Pengudang Bintan Village Offers Halal Tourist Attractions
Pengudang Village in Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province (Kepri) offers halal tourist attractions. This destination is an alternative for Muslims to travel or vacation in a tourist environment with appropriate clothing.
To support halal tourist attractions, Pengudang Bintan Village has prepared a number of Islamic sharia-based tourism services and products. This includes providing halal food and drinks, accommodation, culture, accompanying tourists, and encouraging them to dress in sharia.
Apart from that, there are also homestays available in local residents’ homes and separation of tourists based on gender, meaning male and female tourists are separated. Except for single family tourists, special family tour packages are available.
“UMRAH (Raja Ali Haji Maritime University) is ready to help the Bintan Regency Government in developing halal tourist attractions. Because the potential is very large, especially in Pengudang Bintan Village,” said the Coordinator UMRAH Halal Product Study Center, Lily Viruly.
Pengudang Village is one of the villages on the coast of Bintan and is a conservation area for seagrass, dugong and rare green turtles. This area is integrated with Bintan Resort and is one of the main destinations for ecotourism in Bintan. This tourist destination has beautiful marine views, especially for adventurers who want to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world at the Pengudang Bintan Mangrove Workshop. This underwater beauty is an attraction for local and foreign tourists who like diving or snorkeling.
Among the underwater beauty are coral reefs and various types of marine life with unique and colorful shapes. The sea conditions are still clear with well-maintained natural beaches and fine sand.
Not only that, there is also a mangrove forest that stretches for 4 kilometers. At night, this mangrove forest is full of fireflies or fireflies scattered among the leaves and branches. The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bintan Regency, Ronny Kartika, said that this village has great potential as a halal tourist attraction.
“The development of halal tourism in Pengudang Village will of course offer a new tourism nuance concept in Bintan,” he said.
Ronny explained that the development of halal tourism in this village would be studied more comprehensively by involving related parties. So that it becomes a destination that is friendly to Muslim tourists or Moeslim friendly. “This will be the right branding for Pengudang Village, which has a majority Muslim population and has a green and natural rural view on the seashore,” said the Bintan Regional Secretary.
