Table of Contents

Talam cake

A typical Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) food that you must try is Talam Cake.

Talam cake is a type of layer cake that we can still find today, especially during the month of Ramadan.

Usually, Talam Cake is served as one of the menus for breaking the fast.

This Talam cake is made from ingredients such as rice flour, tapioca flour, cornstarch, salt, brown sugar and pandan leaves.

Konji Gisal

Konji Gisal is a typical food from Kuansing, precisely Gunung Toar District.

The basic ingredient for making Konji is the same as Talam Cake, namely rice flour.

However, Konji Gisal is mixed with coconut milk and granulated sugar.

Making Konji Gisal is not too difficult, mix the rice flour and coconut milk evenly.

Then, the dough is placed in a traditional mold made of iron that has holes in it.

After that, the dough is pressed until it comes out of the hole and forms something like stick noodles.

The final step is to boil the mixture until cooked and Konji Gisal is ready to eat.
