Immigration Seeks to Improve Passport Services in Batam, Amidst Many Citizen Complaints

The Batam Immigration Office and the Batam Harborbay Passport Service Unit (ULP) have explained the public’s complaints regarding online registration of passports.

When contacted by batamnews.co.id, Immigration explained that the passport queue quota was opened twice a month, with the number adjusted to employee capacity.

At the Batam Immigration Office, there are 150 quotas per day for Ordinary Passports and 50 for Electronic Passports, while at ULP Batam Harborbay, the quota provided is 50 for Ordinary Passports and 30 for Electronic Passports per day.

Apart from online registration, Batam Immigration also offers Priority Services at no additional cost, specifically for categories such as Children under 5 years, Elderly over 60 years, Pregnant Women, Sick People and People with Disabilities.

There is also an Expedited Passport Service for an additional fee, allowing passports to be completed within the same day.

The public is expected to be able to access the latest information regarding registration quotas by following the Instagram account @imigrationbatam and activating notifications.

Batam Immigration Leaders recognize expanding services and improving service quality as a top priority, committing to continue improving the system so that it can better serve all the people of Batam City.

However, the Immigration Department apologized for the inconvenience caused and promised to continue working to improve the quantity and quality of their services.
