Foreign tourists enjoy pedicab tours on Batam’s Behindpadang Island

A number of tourists from several countries enjoyed pedicab tours on Behindpadang Island, Batam City, which is the outermost island and borders Singapore.

According to LGB observations, the tourists were seen enjoying the view when they were taken around the island. Apart from walking around, they also tasted the typical culinary delights there.

Secretary of the Rearpadang District Head (Sekcam), Abdul Hanafi, said that around 12 tourists were tourists who attended the opening of the Tourism Port Terminal specifically for yachts and cruise ships on Nirup Island, which was inaugurated by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

Hanafi hopes that by opening a new tourist destination on Nirup Island, it can help increase tourist visits to Behindpadang Island.

“If we can also bring tourists to Akhirpadang, it will increase the income of our residents, such as pedicab drivers, coffee shops, etc.,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar), Ardiwinata, welcomed the opening of the tourist destination on Nirup Island.

He is optimistic that this destination can increase the number of tourist visits, both from domestic and foreign tourists.

Currently, Nirup Island has become one of the locations of many tourist destinations in Batam City. There are various activities you can do on this island, one of which is enjoying the underwater views, because the sea water around Nirup Island is still clear and the coral reefs are still beautiful.

“The hope is that tourist destinations in Batam will continue to grow, and Batam tourism will continue to progress,” said Ardi.
