Spirit Islands. The name is quite unique and a little scary, isn’t it?
But make no mistake, these islands have absolutely nothing to do with mystical things. In fact, the Arwah Islands actually offer truly beautiful marine tourism charm.
The Arwah Islands are located in the Malacca Strait, and are in the Rokan Hilir Regency area, Riau Province. And is a group of islands consisting of nine small islands.
Namely Jemur Island, Batu Mandi Island, Batu Berlayar Island, Batu Adang Island, Pucung Temple Island, Simbang Temple Island, Mas Tokong Island, Labuhan Bilik Island and Pertandangan Island.
These islands do have a very beautiful panorama. The beach and sea are still quite clean and beautiful.
There are many activities that can be done on these islands. These include snorkeling in some of the best spots, diving and fishing.
Of the nine groups of islands in the Arwah Islands, Jemur Island is the island most frequently visited by tourists. Jemur Island is an uninhabited island.
Turtle Breeding Location
However, on this island there is a monitoring post belonging to the Indonesian Navy. Apart from that, this island is also often used as a stopover for fishermen. Jemur Island is also used as a breeding location for green turtles.
Facilities on the Spirit Islands are still very minimal. You will not find food and drink sellers in this place. It’s best if you bring your own food and drinks.
Likewise for accommodation. There is no accommodation on these islands. If you want to stay overnight, you can set up a tent on Jemur Island or stay at the Indonesian Navy post on the island.
