Durai Island is one of the many Riau islands which has many places for tourists to explore. Located in Palmatak district. The island, which is surrounded by clear sea water and white sand, is a place for turtle conservation.

Like the islands in Riau, Durai Island also has clear sea water with a coastline decorated with white sand. It is no different from other beaches in the Riau Islands, as the main point of a beach.

With clear sea water, tourists can see marine biota directly with the naked eye. Not to mention that coral reefs are still natural as a place for marine biota such as coral fish to live, making underwater lovers want to see them directly.

In several places there are mangroves that grow well on the coast. With coastal vegetation such as coconut trees, forest trees and reeds, it also adds to the exotic impression of the island and gives a very comfortable impression for tourists.

What is unique about Durai Island is that it is a place for turtles to stop by. In the afternoon there will be female turtles laying eggs and making nests on the shoreline. Not to mention the existence of turtle conservation, which will protect turtle eggs until they hatch.

History of Durai Island
Durai Island is located in Palmatak subdistrict, Riau Islands and is a habitat for turtles to lay eggs and make nests. Hawksbill and leatherback turtles will rise to the surface of the sea towards Durai Island. Apart from that, this island is also called turtle island.

This island is only inhabited by two families who directly guard the turtle conservation area. This turtle conservation is under the auspices of PT. Prima Oil has been established since 2009.
